Rounding is a fundamental process to ensure the adhesion of the paint, which is why the new FEMS-R – Flange Edge Milling S – Rounding, allows to carry out the rounding of the longitudinal edges of the steel plates by means of 4 powerful milling heads allowing to round the edges at the same time of 4 plate metal edges, avoiding any time-consuming manual grinding work. The Corimpex R&D unit has made it possible to reach process speeds of 3 m/min with inserts life higher than the market average and available radii of 3-4mm, in addition to the introduction of the brand new disc grinder for the removal of oxides or primers before welding. The use of a FEMS-R unit therefore saves hundreds of hours of manual work and greatly optimizes the productivity of subsequent welding processes by making the steel plates quickly available.
